Our Corporate Social Responsibility
At IFD Logistics, formerly iMatrix101, corporate social responsibility is at the heart of who we are. We believe business success must go hand in hand with meaningful community impact. Therefore, we actively support initiatives that empower young people, strengthen local enterprise and create opportunities for sustainable growth.
Our commitment goes beyond logistics services, as we continue to invest time, knowledge and resources into projects that positively shape the communities we serve.
World Malaria Day Outreach 2018
Ready to Beat Malaria is the theme for World Malaria Day on 25 April 2018. On this day, special attention is given to the global malaria community to recognise the work already done, strengthen existing anti malaria efforts and encourage new policies that can help stop and eventually eliminate the disease.
In Sierra Leone, malaria remains a serious threat to the lives of many people. A 2017 report stated that there were nearly 23,000 reported cases of malaria in the country during the previous year, with nearly 100 related deaths. These figures show that progress has been made. However, they also make it clear that much more work is still needed.

The World Health Organization set a 2020 milestone to reduce malaria case incidence and death rates by 40%. Yet malaria cannot be eradicated without greater investment in diagnosis, treatment and prevention. For that reason, stronger support and wider action remain essential.
At iMatrix101 Group, we believe the responsibility to provide aid does not rest only with government. It also belongs to those who are willing and able to help. That is why our Corporate Social Responsibility projects focus on major social issues, including the empowerment of women, youth and education, guided by our mantra, “Changing Lives!”
As part of our commitment to beating malaria, we partnered with the Aberdeen Women’s Centre and the Ministry of Health and Sanitation for a sensitisation outreach. Through this initiative, we visited communities to share malaria prevention strategies and best practice in the fight against the disease.
The local theme is “Join Bele Wuman Beat Malaria” and we are proud to support such a worthy cause. If we are truly ready to beat malaria, then the private and public sectors, local government and the international community must work together. By combining resources, ideas and action, we can help secure a healthier and malaria free future.

iMatrix101 Change A Life Scholarship Supports Children Of Dolbert International School 2017
Committed as ever to their corporate social responsibility drive, iMatrix101 Group donated backpacks filled with books, pens, crayons and other essential learning materials to the recipients of the iMatrix101 Change a Life Scholarship at the Initiative for Women and Girls Empowerment (IWGE) Orphanage located at Wellington.
During the presentation, Augusta Memuna Conteh, Sponsorship, Events & CSR Executive for Elixir Marketing & Media, the communication and media unit of the iMatrix101 Group, said that iMatrix101 has had a steady and productive relationship with IWGE since April of 2016′
From assisting with finance to pay the rent, to selecting the children that have become beneficiaries to the scholarship and continuing the support to ensure the future leaders are empowered to one day contribute to society. “We want to keep motivating these young people to ensure they reach their full potential.”

Marketing and Media Manager, Ajara Bomah presented the learning materials to the children, stating that her and her team were extremely pleased with the excellent results they received in school and iMatrix101 was proud to see them making the most of the opportunity given to them.
“You students are an inspiration to youth pushing to make their dreams come true. Keep up the good work.” Admin Supervisor Mohamed Sheka thanked iMatrix101 for the donation and show of goodwill, saying that all the past support to present day was appreciated and may the relationships between both organizations continue.

iMatrix101 Conducts Training Workshop for The Aberdeen Womens Center: Soap Making for Business Development 2017
Once again going above and beyond expectations, shipping and logistics company, iMatrix Group, organized a training workshop at the Aberdeen Women’s Center, to empower women by teaching them not only a trade skillset, but the business sense needed to operate efficiently.
Fulfilling their Corporate Social Responsibility iMatrix101 met with teenage mothers and young pregnant girls and taught them how to make their own soap with materials found at local markets.
Christine Sesay, from Africa’s Moneypreneur, taught the young women that investors are pleased when the money they invest is used wisely. She explained that the aim was not only to learn how to make soap at an affordable price, but also how to process it properly, sell it, save, and invest the profits into future projects.

Ajara Bomah, Marketing and Media Manager for Elixir Marketing and Media, the communication and media unit of the iMatrix101 Group, informed the girls that although they are already parents at a young age, all is not lost. She told them they still have time to gain an education, step out and empower themselves.
She assured them that iMatrix101 will continue to engage them through similar programmes and workshops. She also asked what other activities they would like to see in order to educate and better themselves.

While receiving feedback from the girls attending the workshop, many of the teenage mothers shared that their pregnancies had forced them to suspend their academic pursuits. Some said the physical strain made it difficult to continue, while others explained they lacked the resources to stay in school. As a result, their education had been placed on hold.
Ms Bomah then surprised the group by announcing that one of the iMatrix101 partners, Educaid, was willing to support those still determined to pursue their studies. She explained that the organisation was prepared to assist students to attend classes free of charge.

She ended by urging the young ladies to take advantage not only of the training workshop, but of every opportunity presented to them. She reminded them, “Because here at iMatrix101, we believe in Investing in Dreams!”
Speaking from her office at 14 Lower Waterloo Street, iMatrix101 Group Managing Director Miatta D. Efe Oghene shared that this programme was just one of many initiatives undertaken by the organisation.
She explained, “The vision I have is to empower young women in this country with more than training, but also the platform to showcase their talents on a national and international level.”
She added that iMatrix101 will continue to perform its corporate social responsibility and deliver excellent services. At the same time, the organisation will focus on developing the youth and women of Sierra Leone.
She concluded by stating that for everyone they help, that person can help another. That is why the mantra of the iMatrix101 Group is “Changing Lives”, because one life can change another.
